August is the eighth month in the year. The number eight has been symbolic of “new beginnings”. Embarking upon a new month always postures me to look within to survey areas of life where my heart desires to improve or pray about matters God is stretching me to grow through. If you have followed Courage Life Soul in this last month, one thing may be evident to you. . .this health journey has allowed me to discover and gratefully incorporate various dynamics of “new beginnings”. Asking the question, “How does one readjust if what we face can’t necessarily be seen or “touched” by those around us?” Trust, this question is no stranger to my mind, especially with shifting intervals of “new beginnings”.
As we enter each new month there can be a form of vulnerability, a sense of hesitancy for not knowing what will be in the days ahead. Similar to “new beginnings” we often have no clue of what a journey or process may engage. . .the details can be gory, foggy or simply unknown. Braving something new or adjusting to undesired life changes are not always easy. It’s not always a volunteer request, still God can sovereignly present an invitation to discover or gain new insight about life beyond our “comfort zone”.
Reflecting on this journey, God has allowed me to accept not all adjustments will be visible, some could actually be hidden within or around us. While hidden, God is able to make them known as He wills according to His timing. I know. . .This means it could be a time of “new beginnings” that trickles into various areas of our life while asking God to give us a “pause button”.
Honestly, personal encounters with “new beginnings” have relented moments of “courage to change for the better”. But how often do we earnestly perceive “new beginnings” as an act of courage? Yes, the courage to pursue “new beginnings” in this spirit can be an empowering experience while calling for a “shift” to focus.
Well, it is a new month. . . some calendar dates may already be filled with meetings, appointments, and other activities of interest. But is there room for “new beginnings”?. . .Have you penciled in time to sit and survey where you are? Has the routine of “this is what I know” become an unhealthy cycle? Are you willing to get uncomfortable with yourself to “focus for the better”? I know the questions are “personal” and often there is no “right” or “perfect” answer. It can literally be an unpredictable process. Yet, I find assurance that no matter what happens beyond or within our capacity, God is able to extend the grace, space and presence of individuals who can be a positive light as we make necessary adjustments for each area of our life.
For wherever we all maybe at this time, however a “new beginning” is defined for you; God can still extend His goodness and abundance as we shift through life moments to embrace any life chapter.
Happy “New Month to You”! Happy “New Beginnings” to You!
