No Pressure Reset
While completing graduate studies there was one term that would carry emphasis in certain courses to introduce as a way to explore self-reflection, accountability and governing of oneself. . .the word is AUTONOMY. God was making me laugh and showing me His creative genius once more in a priceless way. Little, did I realize there were many concepts and practices which were applicable for daily life in this word AUTONOMY. Tackling assignments which expanded this concept of AUTONOMY called for practical introspection. More and more I loved how God met me in this space to not “shrink back” and identify how He wants me to understand it is okay to think differently without feeling pressured to deny what is best for yourself in line with His purpose.
Personally applying the construct of AUTONOMY provided an opportunity to lean into spiritual gifts, nestle talents and cultivate all areas of personal/life interest. AUTONOMY allowed “cognitive grace” to be okay with not fitting into ideas where life allotted a not-so-traditional journey. Redemption and mercy rested in AUTONOMY. Hope and forgiveness for what was not understood was gifted in AUTONOMY. The means to embrace healthy boundaries redefined origins of connection in AUTONOMY. Now this is not all one may gain, but these are significant parts which have allowed personal recognition to not deny the “how” and “why” of God creating each of us in His own image and allowing life to be what it is.
AUTONOMY propelled a new meaning of inner peace. From this journey and experience, God has strengthened in ways where I do surprise myself when withstanding amidst the “pressure”. . .The “pressure” to let go of what made sense. The ”pressure” to not worry how it looked or looks to others. The “pressure” to not fix what is beyond my hands. AUTONOMY gave an internal and external clearance. I don’t know how His hand is uniquely holding you in life, but I am thankful the same grace of AUTONOMY can exist for you as well.
Confession: AUTONOMY ushered in a level of contentment to rest fully in faith to trust God’s love with belief He is all-seeing and all-knowing. AUTONOMY gave way to Romans 8:28 being a form of comfort to the soul. AUTONOMY released the fear of not being understood or able to “explain myself”. Can you believe one word provided all of this candor? I know. AUTONOMY was not just for my benefit, but it was a way for God to give the experience of being in community while being totally obedient to Him over all. It was so uplifting! AUTONOMY bridged the gap that released past “pressure” to abide where God has us now.
AUTONOMY may be a road of discoveries and solace with enlightening moments as you gain your emotional intelligence to lean into what anchors your soul in peace. Now, it won’t dismiss us from facing challenges nor dealing with uncomfortable life moments. However, when “life happens” or situations are above us the AUTONOMY of knowing you are HIS CHILD may help lessen the burden of “caving in” to the “pressure”.
A little inspirational reminder for you that has become helpful for my journey. . . “I may not be able to change the “how” nor ever understand the “why” of things presented in life, but I do believe that in navigating each challenge God will endow grace to have full AUTONOMY in Him.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
