This Roe v. Wade is a complete Pandora’s box for power, confusion, and control to divide. Roe v. Wade is not all about abortion.
From a personal journey, the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade seriously impacts all women of any race, creed or color who may experience any uncontrollable medical matter related to reproductive health ranging from irregular menstrual cycles, fibroids, ovarian cysts, uterine polyps, endometriosis, PCOS, miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy, non-viable pregnancy, IVF intake failure and many more challenges that do require prescriptions and procedures for treatment which fall under what has recently been overturned.
Every female is not “fertile Myrtle”. Every woman does not easily conceive and if conception happens, it may not be possible for the mother to have a full-term healthy pregnancy without losing her life. This is a very distinct dynamic the overturn of Roe v. Wade impacts where medical providers are able to protect the “mother’s” life and treat the reproductive health of a woman who faces an unforeseeable issue in the instance of carrying life beyond their own.
All I can say is know where your state aligns and the level of resources available to access care for your reproductive health as a woman…and VOTE in your local, county and state elections.
Sitting and being reminded that 6/25/2012 was our proposed EDD, I am thankful for grace to protect my health as a woman from a reproductive health matter that could have forfeited my life from matters beyond my control. I stand with other women as I recall enduring a non-viable pregnancy, yet being blessed with a doctor who cared enough about my health, life, well-being and the impact attempting to go “full term” would have presented to both my husband and I while potentially threatening my life.
I am a believer and follower of Christ Jesus. I am firm in my faith that Jesus died, rose, lives and sits at the right hand of God interceding on my behalf. I believe the presence of the Holy Spirit goes before us and is ever present in our lives. Why do I go in this direction? Because I see so many Christians ready to nail people to a “cross” about things they have not ever had to consider of this manner.
We don’t live in glass ceilings all women don’t choose birth control nor endure a vacuum aspiration procedure burden free. Likewise many women don’t choose to be raped, violated, drugged for non-consenting sex that results in conception. It’s sad people find grace for what fits them.
Also this should not be condemnation from women who made the choice to have their child over women who faced decisions where circumstances may have allotted an unmanageable outcome.
Psalm 37:1-11 is all my heart cries.
